Inquiry lesson
For our second lesson of field work we had to do an inquiry lesson. This lesson seemed difficult yo understand . I understood that the students needed a problem to solve and that they had to figure out the conclusion using the evidence they had. It was just difficult creating the lesson itself. The kids were supper excited when Hanna and I announced that they were going to be detectives. The students were given a crime and then evidence. They had to figure out in which colony the crime was committed and who did it. I loved the idea behind the lesson I just wish we had more time because the lesson could have went smoother. It also did not help that this day was a Friday and it was Halloween so the students were filled with energy. The final result of the lesson was a good turn out. I was very thankful that my classmates were very helpful throughout the lesson. Each one was at a table helping the children understand and go through their problem. I felt this was great and help Hanna and I out a bunch. I will admit trying to teach on a time frame is not to exciting . It makes everything stressful but it is wonderful to see the students work together and figure their task out. The students in our class were smart and always ready to learn social studies. This experience has helped me to learn for the next time I need to teach an inquiry lesson to my students.
